BIOGRAPHY
Tonia Grace* was called to the bar of England and Wales in 1992. She is a graduate of the Inns of Court School of Law, London, UK. She practiced, primarily in the area of criminal, family and civil rights / human rights law – including actions against the State – from her barristers’ chambers in Manchester, England until moving to Canada in 2004.
In BC, Tonia worked as a coroner undertaking investigations into sudden deaths and presiding over inquests often involving death in custody. In 2011, Tonia returned to private practice, joining the law firm of Conroy and Co. in Abbotsford.
Tonia has appeared in and conducted hundreds of trials/hearings in her career and is a passionate, tenacious and strategic litigator. She has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia as well as Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal and various administrative boards including the Parole Board, Human Rights Tribunal and Mental Health Review Boards. She has successfully negotiated numerous financial settlements for clients and handles many high-profile litigation cases.
Tonia lives with her family in North Vancouver. She is a nature lover, yoga enthusiast, enjoys caring for her menagerie of animals and watching her beloved Manchester City play “football”.
